(Year of the Snake-White Snake Special Heavyweight Edition)Last year's "Little Dragon Girl"zodiac release was met with wide acclaim from the denim community.This year,responding to our fan's requests,Sauce Zhan presents the "White Snake"themed Snake Year commemorative edition.The design draws inspiration from the legendary figure Bai Suzhen,reimagined in a stylized,captivating illustration that is both elegant and eye-catching.Since Bai Suzhen is portrayed as a white snake,using a white theme for the jeans wouldn't be visually suitable.Instead,we adopted"Xiao Qing's"green theme,which also aligns more closely with the color commonly associated with snakes.Starting from the Tiger year in 2021,we release a new zodiac design each year-each one truly distinctive!From design development to fabric selection,everything is custom-made and dyed in-house.It's worth nothing that the Snake Year limited edition features a two-tone overdyed leather patch with a vivid illustration Bai Suzhen,highlighting the special significance of the year of the Snake.In response to popular demand from our community,Sauce Zhan developed an original heavyweight fabric for this edition.It uses a bold,slub-textured yarn style,and to match the Snake Year's green theme,we customized a green selvedge id paired with a subtle green tint in the weft dye-all in tribute to the Year of the Snake.
The Snake Year-White Snake Special Heavyweight Edition also includes a pair of jeans made from an original double-dyed slub-style heavyweight 20oz fabric.Unlike the slightly stretchy,one-wash versions of the zodiac series,this is an unsanforized,raw heavyweight pair that has undergone pre-shrinking-shrinkage will be minimal,so order with a little extra room before the first wash.This jacket is cut from the same 20oz fabric as the White Snake jeans.Weighing in at a substantial 20oz,it's a rigid and heavyweight raw denim jacket made for fading.Designed in a classic Type2 silhouette with added side hand pockets and a relaxed fit for greater versatility across body types.Woven on vintage shuttle looms from premium long-staple cotton,this raw jacket requires an initial soak and will gradually develop unique,personal fading patterns with wear.
The custom-developed fabric incorporates the Snake Year's green theme.It not only uses slub yarn in both warp and weft for a bold,textured handfeel,but also features an extra-deep indigo-dyed warp.The weft is lightly tinted with reactive green dye to match the theme.Due to the loose structure of the slub yarn,a heavily saturated green would affect the overall front-facing color of the jeans.Therefore,the green in the weft is applied as a subtle tint that doesn't disrupt the indigo appearance-the result is visually striking in person.
To align with the Snake Year's green theme,not only is the weft lightly tinted green,but the hardware details are also crafted from brass with an antiqued copper-rust finish.The rust-effect aging is highly realistic and vintage-inspired,and no protective coating has been applied-allowing the brass hardware to continue aging and oxidizing naturally with wear.Because there is no protective layer,slight rubbing off of the blue-green rust tone may occur during use,which is normal.Please be aware of this characteristic.
