The 534XX loose-fit selvedge denim jacket released by SauceZhan this year is a style I‘m really looking forward to you guys getting your hands on. The design features the classic Type II silhouette， while the fit uses SauceZhan’s own relaxed-fit pattern. As a well-known name in the Amekaji vintage scene， among the three classic styles—Type I, Type II， and Type III—I personally think Type II is often the most wearable and popular.
This new jacket continues the design language of our in-house 344XX jeans and uses the same self-developed purple selvage fabric. The goal was to create an authentic selvedge denim jacket that‘s not flashy, yet full of vintage charm, with craftsmanship, dyeing, and every detail rivaling Japanese denim standards. No necessary techniques or stitching details are skipped: the armholes feature double-needle chain-stitched tucked seams, the hem chain-stitching is continuous with no breaks—details done right. The purple selvage edge is kept on the inside. From construction to fabric, it matches the high quality and attention to detail of Japanese denim. The hardware is classic brass with a matte silver finish, along with red copper rivets. The fabric feels stiff and has a hairy, fuzzy texture, just like a true vintage piece—full of aged character, delivering exactly what selvedge denim should look like.
As a classic style built on a vintage foundation, it doesn't use colored yarns but rather classic deep indigo dye. This selvedge denim style will fade with wear, gradually becoming lighter. Newcomers must first understand what selvedge denim is and what it means to fade it before making a choice. This is an authentic antique loom selvedge denim jacket.100% cotton, fabric developed in-house, featuring purple selvage details, 14oz, rich in hairiness, pre-shrunk with minimal shrinkage.
