The leather is Italian teacore horsehide, which is extremely expensive - so the retail price is not cheap. Due to the high cost, we only production is challenging mainly because most of the trims are hard to source off-the-shelf - many materials had to be custom-made, including the brownish-red cotton lining that has also been faithfully reproduced. The ribbed cuffs and waistband also had to be custom-ordered in wool.
Teacore Horsehide: The dyeing process of teacore leather is somewhat similar to selvedge denim - it will age and develop fading with wear, revealing a brownish-red undertone underneath. Over time, it will develop distinct wear marks and texture.
The ribbed cuffs and waistband are faithfully reproduced in wool, made thicker, and all custom-ordered - the details are very unique. The buttons are beautifully crafted from genuine horn, thick and full-bodied, with distinctive natural grain.
