2025 Snake Year Summer Edition: Featuring our newly developed herringbone-style fabric. Using the same types of vintage imported looms, we altered the warp threading and lifting sequence to create a herringbone-patterned selvedge denim on narrow-width looms. While classic twill selvedge is ubiquitous, trying a different weaving style offers more distinctive character. Based on fan votes, this model uses a new white cowhide leather patch, as determined by ranking the votes. However, please note that as raw denim bleeds dye and the water during the initial soak/de-sizing turns blue, the white patch—being a light color—may likely become slightly stained to some degree.
Herringbone Fabric Shorts Version:This model features the 743-FR relaxed straight-leg shorts cut, a new in-house development designed for summer comfort with a loose fit. The craftsmanship and fabric are the same as those used in our store's EX916-FR long pants, but the cut differs significantly. The front pockets have been adjusted to slant pockets, and the rivets have been modified.The fabric is entirely self-developed and exclusive to the high-line SAUCE ORIGIN collection. We not only incorporated a herringbone weave design but also combined it with a cotton-linen blend process. The yarn is made from ramie fiber blended with cotton, comprising approximately 22% ramie and 78% cotton. The cotton-linen blend offers better heat dissipation and breathability for hot summer weather.As a style developed for summer, the fabric weighs only around 10 oz, making these a relatively lightweight raw denim shorts. The fabric has been pre-shrunk, so shrinkage will be minimal—select your regular size as usual.This product uses raw selvedge denim woven on antique looms, intended for breaking in. It requires an initial soak to remove starch and will fade over time with wear to develop unique textures. Newcomers are advised to learn about "breaking in raw denim" before making a purchase.

The premium line is produced in the sample room using a wide range of antique tailoring equipment, resulting in very low production capacity. Currently, only a limited pre-sale is available. Subsequent batches will be listed as soon as they are ready.The entire pair of pants is stitched with Japanese GUNZE thread, which is costly, and crafted with precision in the antique sewing machine workshop. Many vintage sewing machines from the 1940s to 1960s are used, offering rich detailing. Features such as the shell-stitched fly (as shown in the image above) and the distinctive "cross" Chinese character stitching on the pockets are rare details achieved with 1940s–1960s antique sewing machines—uncommon and unique.Maintaining and preserving these antique sewing machines is a highly challenging and expensive task. Yet, these details are truly exquisite and worthy of appreciation, reserved exclusively for the SAUCE ORIGIN premium product line.
For the belt loop details on this Year of the Snake Summer Edition, we have tucked the lower ends of all belt loops into the waistband. The rear waist belt loops feature a cross-shaped design.
The belt loops feature a raised detail, and on this model, they are tucked into the back waistband after being attached.
The main button for the Year of the Snake design is made from a piece of 925 silver, hand-wrapped over a copper base. It undergoes manual polishing and refinement, making it as exquisite as jewelry. As the silver oxidizes and darkens over time, the texture and grain of the main button will become very unique. This main button is a jewelry-grade high-end hardware component and is quite expensive.
The secondary buttons are made of silver-plated brass. To enhance the details, this summer's Year of the Snake edition also features a snake-shaped design on the secondary buttons. As they age with wear, the plating will gradually wear away, revealing the original brass color underneath.
The premium anniversary edition utilizes a large number of 1940s-1960s black-head vintage sewing machines in its production. In pursuit of finer craftsmanship and details, the production speed is slow, and the cost of raw materials is exceptionally high.
