2022 In-house original fabric – a premium colored cotton denim suitable even for summer wear.
Exclusively designed and developed for the high-end line SAUCE ORIGIN.Crafted on imported vintage shuttle looms, this selvedge denim combines premium long-staple cotton with naturally colored cotton yarn. The high-twist yarn far exceeds the twist level of conventional selvedge fabrics.Weighing 14.8 oz, the fabric has been pre-shrunk for minimal shrinkage. It should fit well before washing. After washing, the surface hairiness will become more pronounced.
Fabric design, development, and dyeing are all completed in-house by our own brand; these are not off-the-shelf market goods. A very interesting characteristic of the slub cotton fabric is the textured slub feel and the abundant surface fuzz — not sure if this might test the patience of friends with trypophobia. The retro-style jacket's appearance and the curved pocket design are exceptionally beautiful. Before the first wash, because more of the white weft threads are exposed, the overall color appears slightly lighter than other denim. After washing, the cotton fibers shrink, reducing the exposure of the weft threads, which makes the visual appearance of the color noticeably darker post-wash.
Deep brown Italian full-grain vegetable-tanned leather with a waxy, textured finish. The leather patch has a delicate texture and is rich in oils. (Due to the heavy oil content of the patch, the model number stamp cannot penetrate the inner layers of the leather. The stamped ink may rub off after washing.) Friends who are concerned about this detail are advised to hand wash gently. Avoiding aggressive washing will better preserve the leather's texture.
The handcrafted 925 sterling silver buttons add the final perfecting touch to this collector's edition piece. The silver buttons will gradually oxidize with wear, developing a darker patina that will enhance their three-dimensional texture. The handmade silver buttons are used on the two pockets, with two buttons per garment. They are not silver-plated; each is a substantial piece of 925 silver handcrafted and wrapped over the base button.
Except for the handmade silver buttons on the pockets, all other buttons are silver-plated brass. With aging, as the silver plating oxidizes and wears, these buttons will gradually transition from white to a yellow hue, forming a unique color evolution.
The jacket features two highly practical large pockets on the inside. The seams are finished with shell-edged stitching, done on an antique sewing machine, resulting in exquisite details.
SAUCE ORIGIN products are designed and produced with extensive use of antique sewing machines. This process creates many unique details that modern industrial sewing machines cannot replicate, which is a particularly interesting characteristic. It enhances the retro feel and period authenticity. The garments are crafted by a senior production line team, ensuring a level of workmanship that mass assembly-line production simply cannot match.
Japanese-made GUNZE sewing thread develops patina and fades alongside the denim with wear.
Priced at approximately 80–100 RMB per spool, it is 8 to 10 times more expensive than conventional sewing thread.
