The original military version came in green, but so many brands have created green styles that many customers have likely already added one to their collection. This time, Sauce Zhan brings you a very special denim version of the fishtail parka—offering a truly unique wearing experience. We hope you'll love it.
Recreating a military-style garment based on its appearance alone is relatively easy. However, the true difficulty of making a reproduction lies in the details. Everything from the prints, zippers, rivets, buttons, to the stitching must be as faithful as possible to the original. This often necessitates custom production for many raw and auxiliary materials, which significantly increases the challenge of replication. The more intricate the design and the more materials involved, the harder it is to produce. Sometimes, for just one or two buttons or rivets needed per garment, production requires ordering thousands of units to meet minimum order quantities. Similarly, using just a few meters of a specific fabric might necessitate stocking hundreds of meters. This pursuit of accuracy often forces custom orders, simply to achieve authenticity.
Sauce Zhan has faithfully reproduced almost all the details of the military original to achieve accuracy. It comes in two fits: a Relaxed Fit (Note: The XS size in the Relaxed Fit is similar to a standard L size. You should order several sizes down for the correct fit.) and a Modified Fit (which is also quite roomy, so there's no need to intentionally order a smaller size). This particular version is based on the Modified Fit. It's not as extremely wide and oversized as the original military specification, making it more suitable for daily wear and styling. Compared to a regular trench coat, the same size in this model already offers a very generous, relaxed silhouette.
Fabric:The fabric utilizes a reactive dyeing process, which is highly colorfast and minimizes fading. This means it doesn't require a "breaking-in" period like raw denim. We've custom-developed this fabric specifically for this garment. To achieve an aesthetically pleasing drape when worn, it isn't as stiff as raw denim but instead offers a more supple hand, excellent drape, and a unique vintage character.
Hardware & Notions:This garment features extensive hardware, making production quite complex. The zippers were custom-made to meticulously match the original's matte silver finish. All other snap fasteners are custom-ordered from YKK, as evidenced by the YKK logo on the snaps shown in the image below. The resin buttons are also reproduced true to the original, involving custom mold creation. They come in two sizes, both in blue resin.
Other Details:The entire garment features chain-stitched flat-felled seams and small details that have been faithfully reproduced based on the original. The hood print replicates the original's design and text, with modifications made to the company name and chest measurement areas to reflect accurate information. The pocket lining is made from 100% wool, a thick and heavy woolen fabric, ensuring your hands stay plush, warm, and comfortable when inserted into the pockets in cold weather.
